Your Care Rating survey – deadline to joining extended

Following the success of the 2013 survey, Your Care Rating is inviting every care home provider in the UK to join this year’s survey. This year it is extending the deadline for joining until 14 July to make it easier for providers to sign up.

Your Care Rating is also launching a new campaign to promote the benefits from joining the survey. The new marketing campaign will feature e-shots and brochures being distributed to all of the UK’s main care home providers using databases from such organisations as Care England, the National Care Forum and NAPA.

The benefits to providers joining the survey this year are extensive, including dashboard reports with benchmarks for each home, a publicly facing website which lists the main scores, resident verbatim reports, a results “Reportal” for each provider with access to all of their results, plus a ‘state of the nation’ overview report. Your Care Rating is the UK’s largest and most authoritative survey of care home residents. It is open to care homes of any size in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and gives residents a chance to rate their satisfaction with the care they receive via an independent, confidential and standardised survey provided by leading research company Ipsos MORI.

Last year the number of providers who joined Your Care Rating more than doubled to 32 and this year the survey wants to expand to as many new providers as possible. By increasing the size of the survey it will help Your Care Rating achieve one of its key aims: to promote continuous quality improvement across the care sector.

The results from the 2013 survey were broadly encouraging with a national average performance score of 871 out of 1,000. However, it will clearly be good for both the industry and the wider public if these scores can rise higher still.
